Began playing golf at the age of 13...Credits her father, Orrin, and Deborah Graham as the individuals most influencing her career...Enjoys fishing, boating and working out�?�Qualified for the Tour on her first attempt.
Benz�??s impressive amateur and collegiate record included winning the 1982 AIAW National Championship. She also was a 1982 NCAA and AIAW All-American at Southern Methodist University and a member of the 1982 Curtis Cup and World Cup teams. In 1981, she captured the Western Amateur Championship title. As a junior, she won the 1978 Orange Bowl Classic and the 1979 American Junior Golf Association Tournament of Champions. Prior to joining the LPGA Tour, she tied for 18th at the 1982 U.S. Women�??s Open. |
